You know that the real coins each weigh one ounce and that the counterfeit coins only weigh half an ounce.

silly riddle. the real answer is ZERO. since your answer indicated you can touch each pile, then one only need to pick up each pile, or a portion of each pile, to feel if it is lighter than the previous pick. no actual weighing on a scale is needed.
The picture is deceiving. Doesn’t appear to show 10 coins in each pile.
