Test your skills of deduction with the July 2022 edition of Riddle Me This: Stealing Bell Ropes
You are locked in a room that is fifty feet wide by fifty feet long with a one hundred foot tall ceiling. You are a skilled acrobat and you are carrying a sharp knife. Attached to the ceiling are two hooks that are two feet apart, and tied to each hook is a one hundred foot long rope. Each rope hangs all the way down to the ground. There is nothing in the room to stand on and if you fall from any higher than twenty feet you will die.
Using only your climbing skills and your knife, how much of the two hundred feet of rope can you acquire while ending up safe on the ground?

Critical piece of information that is missing: You are an acrobat that can hang by your hair. Answer does not make sense…Explanation is physically impossible for the “typical human” acrobat with only two arms. How does one complete two tasks requiring two arms simultaneously when you only have two arms?
Nothing was said about knot skills.
I think they left out a key sentence – “You are a monkey with a tail and can hold yourself on a rope while using both hands to untie the adjacent rope.” 🙂
How serious are the injuries from 19′?
