This is a bad riddle. If the pot was truly pressurized, there would be no “lid”, it would be a fastened cover that could not be easily removed to check if the water was boiling.
Nevermind the fact that the pressurized water at 105C would instantly flash to steam if the pot was opened to atmosphere, very dangerous!
As soon as you vent the pot the water would boil, and some would flash to steam.
The pressure in the pot was sufficient to prevent the water turning to vapor and bubbling.
